TERMS AND CONDITIONS
We believe in being transparent about how we work. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before placing an order.
1. ORDERS
All orders are subject to product availability and acceptance by 8bits4ever.
For products manufactured by 8bits4ever, we generally work on a build-to-order basis. This means that your hardware is built and tested after your order is received.
The usual preparation time is approximately 20-25 business days, although this may take longer depending on our current workload, the size of the order, component availability, or other circumstances.
Some products may have a specific preparation time stated in their product description. Where applicable, this takes precedence over the general estimate.
2. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Orders are normally shipped towards the end of the week, typically Friday or Saturday.
Once shipped, delivery time depends on the shipping method and destination. As a general guideline:
EU mainland: approximately 1 week
Rest of the world: approximately 2 weeks
At present, we offer express shipping through DHL, UPS or FedEx.
Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by customs procedures, carrier delays, or circumstances outside our control.
3. CUSTOMS AND IMPORT TAXES
For orders shipped outside the European Union, the buyer may be required to pay import taxes, customs duties, VAT, or other charges imposed by the destination country.
These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost and are the responsibility of the buyer.
Please check with your local customs authorities if you are unsure about the charges that may apply to your order.
4. PRICES AND PAYMENT
Prices shown on the website are the prices applicable at the time of purchase, unless an obvious pricing error has occurred.
Payment is made through PayPal, either using your PayPal balance or a credit/debit card.
Shipping costs are calculated according to the destination and are shown during checkout.
5. SHIPPING ADDRESS
Orders are shipped only to the address shown on the PayPal payment receipt.
Please make sure that your shipping address is correct before completing payment.
If your address uses a non-Latin alphabet, such as Japanese, Russian, Korean, or similar characters, please provide the address using the Latin alphabet.
Order-related communications will be sent to the email address associated with the PayPal account used for payment.
6. NEW PRODUCTS AND WARRANTY
Products manufactured and sold by 8bits4ever may include a six-month commercial warranty, unless otherwise stated in the individual product listing.
This commercial warranty is additional to, and does not limit, any statutory consumer rights or legal guarantees applicable to your purchase.
The commercial warranty does not cover damage caused by modification, misuse, incorrect installation, accidents, or improper use.
In the event of a warranty claim, the product may need to be returned to us for inspection.
7. VINTAGE AND SECOND-HAND HARDWARE
Unless otherwise stated, vintage and second-hand hardware has been tested and confirmed to be in working condition before being listed for sale. Some items may have been upgraded, repaired, or modified, as described in the individual product listing.
Many of these machines are 30–45 years old. Cosmetic wear, discoloration, scratches, repairs, replacement parts, and other signs of age are therefore to be expected. We make every effort to describe the condition of each item accurately, including any known faults or quirks.
The condition of each vintage item should be assessed from both the product description and the photographs provided.
Vintage and second-hand items remain subject to any statutory consumer rights and legal guarantees applicable to the purchase. Where permitted by applicable law, the specific condition and characteristics of a second-hand item may be taken into account when determining whether the item conforms to the contract.
8. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL AND RETURNS
For consumer purchases made online, you generally have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
If you exercise this right, the goods must be returned in accordance with the applicable legal requirements. Unless otherwise required by law, the cost of returning the goods is the responsibility of the buyer.
The buyer may be responsible for any reduction in the value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory right of withdrawal.
9. DEFECTIVE OR NON-CONFORMING PRODUCTS
If a product is defective or does not conform to the product description or the applicable legal requirements, please contact us as soon as possible.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we may repair or replace the product or provide another legally required remedy, such as a price reduction or refund.
Where a product is returned because of a valid defect or lack of conformity, applicable return and shipping costs will be handled in accordance with the law.
We may request that the product be returned so that we can inspect and verify the reported problem.
10. ORDER CANCELLATION
You may contact us to cancel an order before it has been shipped.
Where a cancellation is legally permitted, any refund will be processed in accordance with applicable law and the payment provider's procedures.
If an order has already entered production or preparation, cancellation may be subject to the applicable statutory rights and any legally permitted deductions.
11. TECHNICAL SUPPORT
We are always happy to help, but please keep in mind that 8bits4ever is a very small business and the amount of time we can dedicate to technical support is limited.
Before contacting us, please carefully read the documentation provided with your device and try the available troubleshooting procedures.
Our technical support covers the operation and use of hardware purchased from us. We cannot guarantee support for unrelated hardware, software, games, operating systems, or third-party products.
12. MODIFICATIONS
We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions when necessary. The terms applicable to your order are those in effect at the time your order is placed.
13. APPLICABLE LAW
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws applicable to 8bits4ever and are subject to the mandatory consumer protection laws applicable to the buyer.
Nothing in these terms is intended to limit any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
