Yamaha SFG 05/01-S Cartridge

The SFG-05/01-S is an MSX FM sound cartridge designed by RBSC (Russian Bear Service Crew), based on the Yamaha SFG-01/SFG-05 FM Sound Synthesizer originally developed for the Yamaha CX5M MSX computer line.

At the heart of the cartridge is a genuine Yamaha YM2151 OPM FM synthesizer, combined with a YM3012 DAC for stereo audio output. An Altera MAX CPLD provides the cartridge logic and interface functionality, allowing the original SFG hardware and software environment to be reproduced in a standard MSX cartridge.

The cartridge supports the original SFG-01 and SFG-05 software and firmware, providing access to the Yamaha FM synthesizer and its associated music software.

The SFG-05/01-S includes a separate breakout board providing stereo RCA audio output, MIDI IN/OUT, and a 20-pin header for connecting the original Yamaha YK-series Music Keyboard.

The result is a compact MSX cartridge providing the functionality of Yamaha's SFG FM synthesizer hardware in a standard cartridge format, while retaining compatibility with the original Yamaha SFG software environment.

In order to get a replacement or refund defective units must first be returned. Once the item has been inspected we will proceed to replace the unit or refund the payment. Items that have been damaged by careless/unadecuated use or modifyied by the buyer in any way will not be elegible for replace or refund of any kind. 

 

Notice that if you accidentally erase the cart's BIOS, we do not give tech support for the reflashing process and once you open the cartridge the warranty is void. If you want to keep your cart under warranty you should send it to us for reflashing.
